Biondo Group Brings United Way Closer to Goal

  - Pike County Dispatch

Milford, PA, March 3, 2005 – Joe Biondo has been an important regional business and philanthropic leader for a long time. So, when he formed and headquartered The Biondo Group in Milford, they vowed to encourage his long-standing practice of “giving back” to his community, and to encourage The Biondo Group employees to do the same.

When Pike United Way asked The Biondo Group to institute a United Way voluntary employee payroll deduction plan, they leaped into action. First, The Biondo Group donated $1,000. Then, speaking from his heart, Joe Biondo urged his employees to follow his family’s lead in “giving back” to the Community where they make their livings.

As a gesture of good will and to provide an incentive to the staff, he offered to have The Biondo Group donate 50 cents for each dollar contributed by any employee. The results were wonderful. Employees contributed $3,250. The Biondo Group gave an additional $1,750 for a grand total gift of $6,000 to Pike United Way.

This generosity by The Biondo Group will provide significant impact on the human services programs supported by Pike United Way during the 2005-2006 Allocation Year, including feeding the hungry, aiding the sick and disabled, helping many Pike county people who are in need.

Pike United Way is still working toward making its 2004-2005 fundraising goal of $115,000. The funds raised are used to help provide much needed human services in Pike County. If you haven’t donated yet, or find yourself in a position to give again, please send a check or money order to United Way of Pike County, Box 806, Milford, PA, 18337, or download a pledge card from our website www.unitedwaypike.org or call us at 570-296-9980 or toll-free 888-306-6963 for further information. Offering hope, building futures, the United Way!
